Silvanus Raphael Oduro Dickson, popularly known as Obofour Raphael, is a Ghanaian Highlife/Hiplife artist whose music blends traditional Ghanaian rhythms with contemporary sounds, delivering powerful messages of faith, hope, and redemption.
Born on April 10th in Brescia, in the Lombardy region of Italy, Obofour Raphael's journey began far from Ghana, but his heart has always been rooted in his Ghanaian heritage. He was raised in Dansoman, Accra, where his passion for music was nurtured alongside his educational journey.
His educational path took him through Ave Maria School for his primary education, followed by Opoku Ware Secondary School. Currently, he is pursuing a degree in Computer Science at the University of Staffordshire in the United Kingdom, demonstrating his commitment to both music and education.
From a young age, Obofour discovered his talent for rap and actively participated in rap battles within his community. In 2003, he formed his first music group, Akasafour (which translates to "Communicators"), alongside his elder brother. Together, they recorded their first demo tape, marking the beginning of his professional music journey.
After the group parted ways when his brother stepped away from music, Obofour chose to continue his solo career, driven by his unwavering passion for the craft. His journey represents resilience, faith, and dedication to using music as a vehicle for positive change.
